28th Depakote Update - Feeling Okay

July 17, 2026··
taper update
Feeling okay. Been having bouts of huge appetite changes. Oh, crap. I was already saying these meds are going to work for me. But they don't! Every month my appetite is decreasing. My appetite now reaches almost zero every day on Prozac. It's probably a side effect of Prozac. I don't have any idea on how to handle this.

Wolf’s taper progress

Dose (mg)
Mood (/10)

Prozac — 40 mg — 6 months — holding | Zyprexa — 20 mg — 6 years — holding | Depakote — 600 mg — 8 months — **tapering** | Buspirone — 20 mg — 8 months — holding | with clinician

Are you tapering off depakote or prozac?

- Risperidone 1mg - 2months
- Prozac - 9 days (adverse reaction)
- Abilify - 15mg -> 10mg -> 7.5mg -> 5mg - 9 months - actively tapering
- Procyclidine 5mg - 9 months - actively tapering
- Propranolol - 20mg - 1 year - holding
- Xanax - 0.25mg - 7 months - holding

@Wolf, can you provide a very brief summary of where you currently are with all your drugs - which ones you have tapered, by how much, and when? Is your Signature correct and current? Thanks so much!

Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 17.92 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
Levothyroxine - 25 mcg

@Catina My signature is very current. This year, I got on all these meds by January and only tapered -20% Prozac followed by -40% of Depakote. I did not taper further since my Depakote cut was a little bit too hard. With -20% Prozac I think I had only two bad days. With the state of my nervous system, it is improving every month ever since last year's crisis, because, for example, my hypersensitivity to coffee is gone and I expect to get even better as months pass by.

Prozac — 40 mg — 6 months — holding | Zyprexa — 20 mg — 6 years — holding | Depakote — 600 mg — 8 months — **tapering** | Buspirone — 20 mg — 8 months — holding | with clinician

@Catina The side effects from these drugs were basically none at all when I started taking them, but are getting stronger as months pass by. Fortunately, like I said, my nervous system is also getting better as months pass by.
