Hi DeNy, I'm sorry you're dealing with so much. Your poor body and brain are trying hard to sort everything out after all the drug changes and reactions. So you're just on the Klonopin right now, correct? How do you feel after taking your dose each day? Do things get worse or are they about the same? Keep reminding yourself that you're going to make it through this. It may take some time, but hold onto hope. And we're here for you...you're never alone. ❤️

Venlafaxine (tapering) - Current dose 17.92 mg
Trazodone - 50 mg
Levothyroxine - 25 mcg

That sounds really scary to live in, honestly. A lot of what you’re describing shows up when the nervous system is overwhelmed or in withdrawal... the numbness, the disconnection, and the fog. It can feel like you’ve disappeared, but you haven’t. Your nervous system’s under a lot of strain right now. Be gentle with yourself. Stabilizing and giving it time really is really important. You can get through this.

@Catina I usually take my dose around 10:00 PM. By 11:00 or midnight, I first feel a mild sedation, which is then followed by either panic, a stimulated feeling, or a drunk and happy sensation. Sometimes the sedation simply lasts and I fall asleep. Regardless of the reaction, I am eventually able to sleep. Before April 2025, my reaction was consistent , it was always a sense of nothingness or slight relaxation followed by sleep. Now, the effects are erratic. Even during a six-month period with no dosage changes, my reaction varied wildly. I'm not sure why this is happening. and thank you so much for reminding me that i am not alone or no one is alone in this journey i just we hope can transition back to out normal livees

That's good to hear since being able to sleep is so important for healing.
"I'm not sure why this is happening" — @DeNy
I wonder if you began having withdrawal effects from previous drug changes.

We're here for you anytime, always remember that. You're going to heal from this, it's just going to take time. You're young, so you have plenty of time to allow your body to heal. Do you have any other responsibilities like school or work or are you unable to do any of those things? I'm glad you have your mom to help you.

You're welcome 🙂 When it comes to holding, if it were me and things still felt that destabilized, I’d be inclined to give my system more time to settle before making another change. As for reactions after a dose, some people do notice waves or shifts after taking it. Your nervous system is still adjusting, so it can be a bit sensitive right now. I haven't had that kind of reaction before, but I'll say you’re not imagining this, and you’re not “gone.” It’s a really uncomfortable state, but it’s something the system can move through with time and stability. Hang in there, you've got this! Poco a Poco (little by little)

"I wonder if you began having withdrawal effects from previous drug changes." — @Catina
It's really hard to say. When I was holding my dose after getting discharged, I got steadily worse for six months straight. I was using supplements like B vitamins (thiamine) and ginger on and off, so I couldn't blame the supplements directly, but it felt like I was on a roller coaster and progressively falling off a cliff every day. After that failed hold, I decided to see what would happen if I slowly started reducing the drug, which I began in January. Since then, I think I have been more or less the same, or maybe the progressive worsening has slowed down. I am not completely sure because my memory is out of whack. At the very least, I am not panicking, but it feels like my old me is hiding somewhere. I don't know why this is happening. The baseline worsening originally started back in April 2025 and never calmed down. I was in a similar state before the hospital, just a bit better. Now, my baseline just keeps getting worse and hasn't stopped. so i ask myself is it withdrawals is it the drug itself is it a combo of both and still havent figure out as for my taper i will hold if i feel like i cant do basic stuff otherwise i think ill ry to maintain the current baseline , i dont know.

Unfortunately, I couldn't continue my studies this year. Around this time, I was planning on moving to Aus for my degree, but unable to chase that dream wit my conditionn. Right now, I just help my mom with the groceries in the early morning and do a bit of cooking. After that, I am completely exhausted and stuck in bed all day dealing with all of my symptoms. Thank you for your support as always

It's hard when we don't have concrete answers. I'm sorry it feels so confusing and difficult. Continue keeping good logs of everything like you've been doing.

Yes, I would hold until stabilized. You can absolutely heal while holding. A hold isn’t “stuck,” it’s your nervous system catching its breath and stabilizing, while at the same time, repair is happening.
