taper update
Well, overall, a fairly stable stretch. I tried doubling the reduction today, but tomorrow I’ll go back to the usual cut, mainly because I’ve been quite stable lately.
It’s risky, since the effects of increasing the reduction tend to show up a few days later.
On the other hand, I’m still experiencing brain zaps and that sensation in the pit of my stomach (PVC? Vagal hits?*), difficulty falling asleep, and an inability to relax after physical activation.
I’ve said it before, but one of the key things helping me is controlling the intensity: physically, mentally, and emotionally.
In earlier stages, worry would turn into mania, fear into terror, and physical activation into a perceived threat of death.
But knowing that those of us who are tapering have somewhat faulty brakes, we can’t just slam the accelerator.
For now, we move forward carefully.
*(Those sensations in the pit of my stomach are what unsettle me the most. I’m not sure if it’s my heart, my stomach, or muscles. Most likely it’s the heart, because I’ve sometimes felt these sensations while checking my pulse, and they seemed like irregular beats. But it seems the heart is healthy (did tests); it’s a nervous system glitch, which makes sense. Still, there have been times when I noticed these jolts while checking my pulse and the beats appeared regular…)
